1. Introduction

Saha Finance ("we", "our", or "us") is a household spend tracker that helps partners manage shared finances. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web application and Google Sheets add-on.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: Email address and password (hashed) when you register.
  • Financial data: Transaction data from linked bank accounts via Plaid, or manually imported CSV files.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the app (pages visited, features used).
  • Google Sheets add-on: We access only the current spreadsheet to display your financial data. We do not access other Google files.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Saha Finance service.
  • To categorize and display your transaction data.
  • To sync bank data via Plaid on your behalf.
  • To authenticate you in the Google Sheets add-on.
  • To send budget alerts if you opt in.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure infrastructure. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption. We do not sell or share your financial data with third parties.

5. Google Sheets Add-on

The Saha Finance Google Sheets add-on requests the following permissions:

  • Current spreadsheet access: To write transaction data into your active spreadsheet.
  • External network access: To communicate with the Saha Finance backend API.
  • User email: To display your signed-in identity in the Settings sidebar.

Your authentication token is stored in Google's per-user UserProperties — it is not accessible to other users of the same spreadsheet.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Plaid: Used to connect bank accounts and retrieve transactions. See Plaid's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel/Railway: Application hosting.
  • Supabase: Database hosting.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. When you disconnect a bank account, the associated transactions are removed from our system.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can export your transaction data or request complete account deletion by contacting us.
